Dear Bongolanders,

My name is Emanuel Feruzi from Tanzania. I have been working with Linux for about 6 years. From the beginning I wanted to share this Linux and OS in general, with the Tanzanians. But I have learned more about the spirit of Open Source, I want us to make a change in all Kiswahili Speaking countries. And I have made a few attempts to do that.

1. I start Linux Users Group - http://linuxgroup.co.tz/
2. Gave free seminars about Linux at IFM and UDSM
3. Initiated the Umoja Project

The Umoja Project

Basically, the Umoja Project is focusing on Kiswahili Localization of Open Source applications with a goal of having a Kiswahili Linux Distro some day. The Localization is one exercise that requires minimal or no technical skills at all. That makes it the project for everyone.

Together Let make a Open Source Speak Kiswahili.

Firefox 3

We tzLUG members, have been working on the Translation of the Firefox 3. The initial phase of raw translation has been done. Now we need help of people to do the Quality Check. We are aiming to release it on the Go Open Conference this year and we can use all the help we can get from everywhere.

Please drop me an email if you want to be part of this and we will greatly appreciate. My email is emanuel.feruzi@gmail.com.

How will work

->You send me you email address to emanuel.feruzi@gmail.com
->I send you the PO files to Quality Check. Send you also the QA Check Guidelines and the Glossary
->On completion you email back the files to me (in which you will indicate if I can send you more files)

It is that easy. II am aiming to do the first build end of this month so that we can get to you so that you can use it and have us to more correction.

Next is OpenOffice.Org
